Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute (Deemed University), Pune is delighted to announce the inauguration of International Student Cell's new office on its sprawling campus on the International Studens’ Day, i.e. 17th November 2014.
Following the guidelines of the University Grants Commission, New Delhi as well as the agenda of the International Union of Students, the Cell in Deccan College offers a ‘second home’ to all the international students who have been admitted to M.A., P.G. Diploma and Ph.D. Courses in Archaeology, Linguistics, Sanskrit and Lexicography.
The International Students’ Cell would strive for the welfare of the international student community, organise interactive discussions, seminars, programmes on the themes of cultural integration, generating awareness about unity in diversity. The University Grants Commission’s (UGC) slogan “Shikshit Bharat, Saksham Bharat—Quality Education for All” finds a platform in this university through the
creation of the International Students’ Cell and we invite all the international students who have been enrolled in this university to join hands to pursue the goals of this ‘movement’ for a bright, prosperous, peaceful and vibrant tomorrow. In order to fulfill the requirements and administration of the cell, a committee has been formed to look into all the issues and welfare of the foreign students, Prof. Vijay Sathe (In-Charge), Dr. Prabodh Shirvalkar (Member Secretary), Dr. Pradnya Deshapande (member), Dr. Shubhangi Kardile (Member) and Dr. Shilpa Sumant (Member). This committee will perform all the duties required for pleasant stay and day-to-day matters of international students.
